Telepass Family

Telepass Family is a contractual formula of Telepass, the telematic system which enables you to pay toll fees without having to stop in the toll lanes dedicated to this service.

A small apparatus, applied to the inside of your car or motorcycle windscreen, communicates directly with the machines located in the entrance and exit toll barriers.

Telepass Family is aimed at natural persons, may only be installed in vehicles for private use and may be requested by anyone who has their own bank account, or a Post Office bank account (Bancoposta) or a credit Card accepted, excluding rechargeable cards.

WHERE TO APPLY FOR ONE

To subscribe to the Telepass Family service, the customer must go to their bank, if it is accepted, and fill in the subscription application form. Subsequently, on presenting a copy of the latter, the customer may collect the apparatus ( battery operated) from any of our Service Centres, Punti Blu or from some authorized dealers.

To collect the Telepass one must present:

  • the subscription application form stamped by the bank;
  • A valid identification document;
  • the number-plate numbers of the vehicles in which one intends to install it.

The Telepass apparatus may also be collected by a person who is not the owner of the contract if they present the following: the application form underwritten at the bank and signed by the owner; a copy of the owner's identity document; the number-plates of the vehicles; a statement of proxy signed by the owner and the person's own identity document.

If your debit card (Bancomat) is issued by one of the credit institutes who have joined the scheme to this date, it is possible to obtain the Telepass Family service directly at the Service Centres, Punti blu and selected commercial offices, without having to go to a Bank. On inserting one's debit card (Bancomat) or credit card into a special machine, authorization is issued telematically and once the contract has been drawn up, the apparatus may be collected.

HOW MUCH IT COSTS

The apparatus is the property of Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. and is lent out for use by the customer. The cost of the service is Euro 3,10 + VAT for each three-monthly invoicing period and the upper limit of expense during that period is Euro 258,23. If the limit is exceeded, both the invoicing period and the charge become monthly Euro 3,10 + VAT. The invoicing period and the charge go back to being three-monthly if the customer does not exceed the upper limit of expense stated during the following three months.

INSTALLATION

Family is easily installed. If there are any functional problems, the apparatus will be replaced immediately at any Service Centre of the Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova Company.

WHERE TO USE IT

Telepass may be used in all toll stations equipped for the service.

HOW TO USE IT

Once installed in your vehicle, you can enter and exit the motorway on the Telepass toll lanes. During transit the system reads the toll fee class of the vehicle, the entrance and exit toll stations and the toll fee sum which will be charged to your current account on a three-monthly basis (or monthly if you exceed the upper limit of expense established).

In addition, It is important to note that:

  • if the customer enters the motorway on a Telepass lane and exits from a toll station which does not have Telepass lanes, they must choose a lane with a toll officer in order to validate the transit without having to pay anything.
  • if the customer enters the motorway, taking a ticket, through a toll station which does not have Telepass, at the exit toll station they may choose a lane with a toll officer where they can validate the transit by paying, or a "bi-modal" toll lane (Viacard +Telepass) where they must insert the ticket into the machine to get through the barrier.

CHANGING NUMBER-PLATE NUMBER

A single Telepass apparatus may not be used in more than two vehicles.

If the customer wishes to move the apparatus into vehicles with a different number-plate to the one stated in the contract, they must notify a Service Centre or Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A.

CHARGING OF PAYMENT, INVOICE, LIST OF TRIPS

The sum is charged to the current bank accout of the Telepass Family customer.

Toll fees payed with Telepass Family without any extra charges are shown on the invoice with the VAT highlighted.

If the customer needs a copy of the invoice they may request one at one of the Company's Service Centres

RETURNING THE APPARATUS

If the customer wishes to return the Telepass they may:

notify Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. by registered post with recorded delivery (raccomandata A/R) enclosing the apparatus;

Hand it in personally at a Service Centre of the Brescia-Verona-Vicenza-Padova Company or at a Punto Blu or an Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. Office.

If the contractual relation with the customer is revoked by Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. or by the bank, the customer must return the Telepass within 20 days of the official notification in the manner described above. After this time, Autostrade per l'Italia S.p.A. will charge the customer a penalty fee of Euro 25,00 +VAT for the delay in returning the Telepass apparatus.
