REDEVELOPMENT VERONA EST TOLL STATION. HARMONIZATION OF CONNECTIONS WITH ORDINARY TRAFFIC FLOW
The project involved the construction of a new toll station to substitute the old one which had been built in the 60's. The building and equipment was thus brought up to date adapting it to cope with the current traffic influx and was fitted out with the infrastructures and equipment necessary to raise the quality level of the services provided.
The creation of a rational connection, on offset levels, between the Verona Est toll barrier, the South Orbital road of Verona and ordinary traffic flow, imposed moving the entrance and exit of the motorway back, in relation to their former positions, thus restraining the toll station and the surrounding area.
Also included in the main operation, was the redevelopment of the motorway link road between the Toll barrier of Verona Est and the S.R. 11, in order to create a direct connection to the East Orbital "Valpantena" road, built previously by the Council of Verona, as well as to the South Orbital road of Verona under the company's management.
The operation was also deemed necessary to enable the junction with the South Orbital road of Verona to be completely open to traffic, thus harmonizing the connections with ordinary traffic flow.
