WIDENING OF THE A4 NEAR 3 OVERPASSES

Description:

The operation improved safety by restoring the normal width of the A4 carriageways which had been narrowed near the 3 overpasses and where the third lane had been built using the emergency lane.

In particular, the operation consisted in demolishing 3 overpasses and reconstructing 2 new structures at the site, to serve the following provincial roads:

• S.P. 668 situated at Km 23 + 470 of the A4 in the Municipial District of Lonato (BS);
• S.P. n°27 "Mongabia" situated at Km 45 + 470 in the Municipial District of Castelnuovo del Garda (VR).

The third overpass, built by "Mischi" Construction Company, situated at Km 44 + 940 in the Municipial District of Castelnuovo del Garda (VR), only underwent demolition.

Technical data:

• Territorial area: municipial district of Lonato (BS) and municipial district of Garda (VR);
• Demolition of 3 overpasses and reconstruction of 2 new structures;
• New structures in concrete with pier in central reservation, pier and abutments made on site, planked with prefabricated girders;
• Transversal section of structure: Lonato - 14.8 m; Castelnuovo del Garda - 17.8 m.
