New buildings at Desenzano toll station and completion of works

Description:

Alongside the building of the above, the station building has been modernized in order to satisfy the needs of the public and the staff working there. The toll station has therefore been developed in response to the increasing traffic levels and the evolving toll payment systems.

The work consisted in the construction of a new building to house the toll services and relative structures, including the new Service Centre open to the public, as well as the construction of 3 new toll lanes and the broadening of the entrance and exit junctions of the toll station.

A large car park, connected to the main road via an underpass, has been built at the toll station.

The work was completed in stages and was carried out without having to close the toll station and did not require any interruption of the traffic or the running of services.

In order to safeguard the environment in which the new building is located, the carriageable surface of the toll station is served by a channeling network of water tanks for the collection and treatment of rainwater.

• External public car park for light vehicles (n° 140 spaces) and heavy vehicles (n° 7 spaces).
