Exemption

The following categories (art. 176 of the Highway Code and art. 373 of the Regulations for application of the Highway Code):are exempt from payment of toll fees

• vehicles of the National Police Force with "Polizia" number-plates and ANAS vehicles displaying distinguishing logos.
• vehicles of the Police Force (Carabinieri) with E.I. number-plates and Ministry of Defence logbook stating notation of charge to the Police Force;
• vehicles with C.R.I. number-plates, as well as vehicles of voluntary associations and similar no profit relief organizations;
• vehicles with V.F. number-plates, as well as those used by the Permanant Fire Service Corps of the independant provinces of Trento and Bolzano;
• vehicles with G.d.F. number-plates;
• vehicles with C.F.S. number-plates;
• vehicles with POLIZIA PEN number-plates;
• Army vehicles used as emergency aid vehicles (ambulances, breakdown service, etc.) in carrying out their duties or when escorting convoys.
• Army vehicles during emergency intervention and during situations of public calamity, as well as civil vehicles with state or foreign number-plates and authorization from competent authorities , which operate within formally recognized bodies or organizations to bring essential aid to the population during natural disasters or military incidents.
• vehicles of the officials of the Ministry of the Interior , of ANAS, of the General Management of M.C.T.C., of the General Traffic and Road Safety Inspectorate, of the Ministry of Public Works, who are authorized to police the traffic.
